Brooklyn 7th Avenue Boys | Dyker Heights Gang

7th Avenue Boys from the 1970's

The childhood films (1978 - early 80s) of a bunch of Brooklyn hoodlums whose little piece of turf in the universe was Franks Candy Store on 7th avenue in Dyker Heights.

BACK IN DAY,

when Brooklyn was cool, instead of pathetically hip:

YOUR IDIOCY COULD ONLY BE RECORDED ON AN 8mm MOVIE CAMERA.

VIDEO GAMES (Asteroids) WERE PUSHING OUT PINBALL MACHINES.

PUNKS HUNG ON STREET CORNERS

(not in front of computer screens in their parent's house. And when your old man drank, most likely it wasn't coffee, but if it was, he sure as hell wasn't drinking with a Java Jacket!)

TIMES SQUARE WAS FILLED WITH PIMPS, WHORES, PEEP SHOWS, & HUSTLERS

(and the world was good: For $10 bucks, a horny high school kid watch a showgirl thru the peepshow window and if you weren't careful, for $20 bucks, a brother would sell you a switchblade(comb)!)

Johnny T - Comedian

One of the more famous from the 7th Avenue crew - is Johnny T. You will see him appear regularily on stage in the city especially in the comedy clubs in the Village. He act is a blend of his street knowledge added to current events and politics. It is a really funny act and highly recommended.
